Behlman Electronics Inc., known for its leadership in providing
power products for industrial, commercial and military applications,
has increased production of its BL1500 AC Power Supply to meet
the growing demand for ultra-reliable down-hole systems throughout
the oil and gas exploration industry.
The
Behlman BL1500 is an AC source that delivers 0-700 or 0-1400 volts
of clean, regulated AC at the output, to enable field crews to
power down-hole tools, motors and sensors up to five miles from
the power source. Its ruggedized design enables the BL1500 to
perform reliably in even the most punishing oil and gas exploration
environments.
Behlman
BL1500 Power Supplies have a number of unique features, including
master/slave capabilities that can parallel up to three units
for higher power requirements. Any of the three units can be designated
as the master, and units can be synchronized to an external input.
The BL1500 features protective circuits for input, constant current,
short-circuit and temperature, and provides adjustable voltage
and current limit, dual range output, remote control via RS-485
and alarms.
Behlman
recently received a major reorder for a customized version of
the BL1500, from a customer that expects demand for down-hole
power supplies to be strong at least through the year 2010. “This
re-order contract confirms that the BL1500 is rugged and reliable
enough to meet the rigors of the industry, while also showing
how Behlman is able to adapt or reconfigure the BL1500 to meet
the specific requirements of anyone in the industry,” said
